Payment receipts confirm that you received money and provide your client with documentation for their records. While invoicing software often sends automatic receipts, this template is useful for businesses that accept cash, checks, or manual bank transfers where automated receipts are not available.

For partial payments, the remaining balance display is crucial. If a client pays $5,000 on a $12,000 invoice, the receipt shows the payment applied and the $7,000 still outstanding. This eliminates confusion about how much remains due and when the next payment is expected.
